MK6 Fiesta heating query - Blowers getting hot to fast??

Featured Replies

Hey guys, i have no issues with the car, but just wanted to check if it is correct or if i have a possible issue.

So the car warms up within 5 minutes and i get warm/hot air through the vents (great in winter and way faster than any other car i have owned).

Is this normal for the Mk6 fiesta (2006)?

Also after around 10-15 minutes, when the blower is on full cold and on the windscreen option, i can still feel warm air next to my feet from the vents, also is this normal?

Thanks for putting my mind to rest 🙂

Normal for the petrol's.  Engine isn't very thermally efficient so you get plenty of waste heat produced.  (Of course, you're paying for that heat in fuel though).

The heater matrix is a constant flow on these, so the pipes in the footwell will always be hot when the coolant is hot.  It can become uncomfortable in very hot weather, especially if your AC doesn't work.
