Mechanical fault with electric handbrake on Focus

Featured Replies

Just wanted to ask the group if anyone with a Ford car that has an electric handbrake button has experienced any issues with it taking the handbrake off when they've pressed the unlock door button on the car keys or the auto handbrake not coming on and the car rolling? My partner parked his Ford Focus 2019 plate outside the house like he always does and came inside. 20 mins later he was walking back to the car, pressed the door unlock button on the car keys as he was approaching the car and the car rolled down the road and rammed into another car. It has been stationary for 20 mins without issue prior to that. He has the auto handbrake on and when parked always uses the manual handbrake button. Thank you 🙏🏽

That's definitely is a worry, when I park on a hill I leave it in gear, just incase.
