Dagenham delays

Good morning

My new Puma has been in Dagenham for over 2 weeks now. I was told it would be there for a maximum of 7 days

Is anyone else experiencing the same delays?

Does anyone know what the delay is?

My ETA keeps being pushed back. It was in Holland for a few months and when I was told its now in the UK I thought I was nearly there to getting my car but its delayed again ! Very frustrating

I haven't heard of any official holdbacks lately (were a few last year due to parts shortages and recalls).

Probably just waiting for a full transporter of new cars up to your location.

It can also be caused when your car gets boxed in and they are waiting for other transporters to move the cars in front of yours as well as waiting to fill a transporter for your own car.

That was the excuse I was given for mine anyway!

I was told by the dealer they do not know whats holding it up and ford says speak to your dealer!!

The dealers aren’t told tbf. Unless they know someone they just have to go on the info provided by Vista which will just say it’s in the system waiting to be transported.

Ford logistics are an absolute mess. Pumas seem to be built quite quickly and then the lottery begins. It's shameful and it appears the dealer has no control regarding delivery.

Mine was already built and sat at Dagenham when I ordered in early May for June delivery. As of now the delivery date is end of July, but any dates the dealer gets are meaningless as they only get told its coming the day it's actually shipped.

Having moaned at the dealer I was told Ford insists on Ford delivery drivers using Ford lorries delivering them, the dealers cannot arrange their own transport. I dont know why this should be an issue (never used to be), unless it's a Brexit related lorry driver shortage, Ford being incompetent or union thing.

Whatever the reason is I've zero confidence it will turn up at end of the month.

Not sure it's Brexit related, more likely to be union issues. Whatever the reason it's a disgrace and probably puts a lot of potential buyers off the Puma. Shame as it's an excellent car, I'm on my second.

It's probably a marketing and advertising thing.  So that you only see new Fords on Ford branded transporters.

There was a shortage of Ford badges last year...and Ford held the entire car back until they could be fitted with badges.
