Red brake callipers paint needed please?!?!

Featured Replies

Hello…. I’ve just purchased a 2017 fiesta ST, she’s red with black detailing, I’d like opinions on whether to paint callipers red or black? Alloys are black to match grills and other detailing?! If not black what colour red should I use? Or even better what exact paint black or red should I get? That’s obviously a high temp resistant paint? Thank you in Advance

Just search for red brake caliper enamel

Any heat resistant paint will do

I had a mk3 MR2 in red, with silver wheels, I painted my calipers with gold smooth finish Hammerite it worked fine, maybe the ST calipers get hotter though.

I've always just used Hammerite as well.  It can overheat and peel if you do track days but should be fine on the road.  I don't like to use the brakes anyway, waste of fuel! :whistling:

Not a fan of red cars but I've had blue on blue a few times which looked good back in the day (imo!).

Also had gold on blue which looked nice but subtle.

Painted the tiny calipers on the Focus black to hide them (and the drum rears!) so I'm not sure black calipers are worth doing on a performance model.

Several years ago used this firm to buy some paint tor my previous car. They were able to produce the same Pantone green to match the existing brakes (Skoda Mint Green). I painted all 4 callipers at least twice and still had 3/4 of a tin left.

I am never sure how heat resistant Hammerite is for brakes. Paint I bought states "Temp Resistance:- 170ºC."  They sell a number of red paints, so you will need to chose which shade you want.
