Hi,

The rear, top spring brackets have had crud trapped in them for ages and have rusted through. They spot weld onto the chassis. Does anyone know if you can get this section anywhere? Looked on Fords parts site and no mention of it.

I'm guessing that's not a picture of their actual car.  They're saying the metal 'box' that the spring mounts to has rusted.

I've had a look on 7zap and I can't find them available at all.  I think they may come as part of the inner arch but can't confirm that so far.  Should be a very easy shape for any fabricator to recreate and weld in though.  Just need to make sure it's strong enough for the spring tension.

Yep Yom, you’re correct, it’s the metal bracket I’m after, not the isolator.

It’s a shame because the rest of the car is rust free. 
 

It’s worth owners removing the wheels and checking theirs are not full of mud like mine were:

Never seen one that bad before!  I'm afraid I still can't find any for sale. 

Spent another half hour searching yesterday as I don't often get beaten by parts.  But this one has eluded me.

Please do let us know if you find one.

Do you work on a farm or a building site?  I would recommend carefully checking the rear brake pipes considering that level of muck build up.  The brake pipes on my own Mk6 had rusted badly at just 8 years old.  That car was also caked in muck underneath when I got it though.

ring up a genuine ford dealer and see if they can get the part..they might be able to

We bought it recently. Don’t know the history, but the rest of it looks ok.
