Oil life

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Focus Vignale 2019 and I tried to view my oil life in the settings menu but there wasn’t a percentage just the option to reset the oil life.

I went to the service department and they took away the option to view it, just when a service is due it would pop up.

if I use a non Ford garage would they have the option to refresh this? I tend to do the service and M.O.T together.

thanks 🙂

The oil life remaining in percent was available in the instrument cluster on the model up to around 2019. For reasons that I don't know, Ford then removed that when the vehicle went in for service. My own Focus has never displayed the oil life remaining, and I still do have the option to reset the oil life indicator in the IPC.

You can still see the oil life remaining indicator if you use the Ford pass app, on your phone.

Thanks for your help. Don’t suppose if you know if Non Ford garages can reset the oil life after servicing?

It can be reset using FORScan or on some vehicles in the instrument cluster OR using accelerator and brake pedals. Most garages will know how to reset it. The method for automatics and manuals is often different.

Here is the video of how things used to be ..........
