Space saver tyres cables

Hi

Just had a tyre blow out on a 2017 titanium sport.

It had a side space saver under the rear that was held on by bolts and cables.

I've changed the tyre, but what am I supposed to do with the cables?

They don't appear to be removable, and would just dangle on the ground.

I tied them up with rope, but what's the proper approach?

    The correct procedure is to turn the lowering bolt anti-clockwise to let the wheel down. Then turn the bolt clockwise to wind the cable back up.
