focus 1.0 ecoboost 2017 plugs

Featured Replies

hi i have a focus 1.0 ecoboost 2017, every now and then i get a message on the dash saying engine service now and it looses power, but if you knock the car off and back on it sorts itself out, has anyone had the same issue, also i have just serviced it and wanted to change the plugs but the plugs won't come out because they are too tight and there is a little bit of oil round the top of the plugs

Many people have the same issue, but there are various causes so you'll need to have the fault codes read before going any further.

Probably best to leave the plug change to an experienced garage if they're seized in.

I think the official interval is 37.5k miles 3 years. My 1.0 was on very low miles at the first MOT (due to lockdown etc) but my dealer strongly recommended sticking with the 3 years precisely to avoid the seizing issue.

It means "Engine Broken" take to garage. It has nothing to do with servicing, it's just Fords poor choice of words.
