Forscan help required

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am hoping to use forscan for the first time this weekend to deactivate the trailer module on my Mk3 focus, but wanted to check a few things first.

1. I believe the above module is in the BCM file, but just wondered if there is more than one I need to deactivate (either in this file or another one)? Is the file called BCM as I have seen different variations on different sites?

2. I believe when using for the first time, I am asked about a secondary boot loader. I have read somewhere about downloading a file first before connecting to the car? Is this required or will it do it automatically as part of the process?

3. I have read a few guides/watched a few videos so will ensure after updating the module(s), I press the stop button. I will then check for fault codes before disconnecting from the car (using spark plug button). Is there anything else I need to check or be aware of?

4. I believe the lead I will be borrowing is a forscan one. Am I right in saying the BCM module is HS can network?

5. Is there anything else I need to know/be aware of?

Sorry for all the questions, just conscious of the issues if I don't do this right 😭.

Thanks in advance

Matt

Sorry for the delayed reply, didn't get a notification. Yes made sorted it thanks. Managed to download the additional SBL files manually and deactivated without breaking anything 🤣

Hy guys,

hope this is the correct post to ask for your help.

I use forscan with payed license, I have done the firmware update of some modules and I have some questions for you guys.

My car has the PCM module with the calibrations file showed in the left photo attached, I have updated the firmware but unfortunately I don't do the back up... now I need to come back to the factory settings as showed in the photo, because I have some DTC code in PCM, and forscan can't erase them (see the right photo), and cause the yellow engine fault light on.

I am not able to find the calibration file LX6A-14C204-HBC (see the center image with red marker).

I try to download it from the fordmotorcraft site but the file I download are always the same "DSFM_downloadfile.asp", and it doesn't work, because I need the zipped .vbf file.

Someone can help me please?

I need to find a valid file for my PCM, thank guys!

David
