help please! have a 1999 ford focus went to change the stereo and sumones cut the connectors of the wires. bought new ford ones but wires are dif colours anyone kno what wires are what comeing from the car? thanx

all the wires are different even in the same models what colours do you have? even with the wires chopped they fit tio the connector in the same order this was my colours

Harness 1

1 --- White --- Black --- Left front +

2 --- Gray --- Black --- Left front -

3 --- White --- Purple --- Left rear +

4 --- Gray --- White --- Left rear -

5 --- White --- Red --- Right front +

6 --- Gray --- Red --- Right front -

7 --- White --- (none) --- Right rear +

8 --- Gray --- (none) --- Right rear -

Harness 2

1 --- (not used)

2 --- Black --- Green --- Radio Ground

3 --- (not used)

4 --- Orange (thin) --- Black --- Radio Illumination

5 --- Green --- Yellow --- Radio switch

6 --- Black --- Yellow --- Radio Ground

7 --- Orange (thick) --- Black --- Radio 12V

as i say the wiring colours arent all the same if these colours are no good go to a scrapyard and trim the plug off a car with the same colour wires and wire the plug to youre car now the adaptor will fit straight in all you need to remember iss the focus is switched ignition to the stereo so when wired it will only work with ignition in the acc position or engine running it should not work with ignition off
