We seem to have mislaid the spare key for our 2020 Focus - anyone know how to get a replacement - and have it programmed - and how much it costs? I would guess a Ford dealer would charge loads, but are there other suppliers?

Does re-programming mean reprogramming the car and the original key as well as the new replacement?

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

    Vehicles built after 2013 can normally only have a new key supplied and programmed in by a Ford dealer. Expect to pay about £199 🙁

    It is the car that gets programmed not the key and so the correct procedure is to delete all keys from the cars memory and then programme in the new replacement and reprogramme in your existing key. This will mean that if at some point in the future you find the missing key it will no longer work.

    Beware of companies who offer replacement keys without even seeing your car. They are simply making a clone of your existing key, not something that is to be recommended. Also they are often even more expensive than Ford, for example Timpsons were or are charging £230 !!!
