Spec me a steering wheel lock

Featured Replies

Hello

I should have done this a while ago, I would like to get a steering wheel lock for my Ford Fiesta.
A few months back my neighbour caught a guy down the side of our houses looking in my car, and others in the street, he got nicked down the road after he called the cops.

Can anyone spec me a decent lock?

I was thinking Stoplock Pro, anyone have one, or anything else you can recommend?

Thanks

Small disklok

Is that those full cover locks at around £150?
Wasn’t looking to spend that much, but if it does the job it’s obviously worth it.

The last time I looked in to steering locks, most things other than a disklok were ineffective and can be quickly removed by knowledgeable thieves.

Of course even the cheaper ones may still make them move on to another vehicle without anything.

It depends if you want a bit of a visual deterent, or something that can actually slow them down?

I guess it’s more of a visual deterrent, though I would likely go for the silver one, lol so it doesn't stand out as much.

My thought process is a thieve will always look through the window first anyway.

Remember that with many steering wheel locks, if your wheel rim is leather the weight of the device will leave pressure marks into the leather, when we got our Fiesta I found out our old lock and started using it again, that only lasted for a few weeks, it was leaving bad impression marks.

I bought the elastic protector for mine and also fit it sideways so that the hinge and lock mechanism are horizontal. That stops the disklok leaving dents.

Got a link to the elastic cover please?

Not sure if I need it on my fiesta, is it only leather steering wheels it’s needed.

What colour Disklok did you get?

Thanks

I used mine on a leather wheel for years - I stuck double sided 'velcro' on the inside of the Disklok to cushion it, never had an issue...
