Owl noise

Featured Replies

Hi all I'm literally pulling what hair I have left out. I have a owl like noise when car is warmed up when I push throttle a bit when driving.when I give it some beens especially in 2nd it sounds like compressed air going down a metal pipe. Have not got any codes coming up car drives fine. Had smoke test done as a result replaced the turbo to intercooler pipe, and still making noise. Had car 4 years so defo know noise isn't right.

Any ideas what it could be ???

Cheers.

what about the intercooler to inlet manifold pipe?

it's also possible for the turbo itself to be defect. Can you get under the car, to check for any bearing play in the turbo?

what's the mileage?

That's how the turbo works.

The EGR pipe is also a metal one so maybe the EGR is sticking open slightly?  It should be fully closed at full throttle.  You could blank it for the short term just to test whether it's that.
