engine + starting problems

Featured Replies

hi, i am working on a ford transit diesel chassis cab 2.2 tdci rwd MK8 2016, this came to me with oil all over the engine so I cleaned all the injectors and gave them new seals also stripped and cleaned the turbo, and also stripped and cleaned the EGR, and took out the starter motor and cleaned and checked to see if it was properly and it is, now when I try and start the van it sounds like the engine is jammed, I just get a click like the battery has died, there is plenty of power in the two battery's also I can turn the flywheel by hand, and this is a reconditioned engine 80k miles ago

Have you bench tested the starter?

If it works away from the truck, I'd be checking the thick earth cables from the battery to the chassis & engine/transmission.

Definitely sound like poor earth or starter.
