Power cuts when slowing down, up a hill

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Any suggestions what to look for please?

Galaxy 2017, ex Addison Lee.

Diesel 120k miles.
6DCT (Mk2 ie no plastic) have had it reconditioned, £3200, made no difference (that's another story).

No error codes. If I run the recalibrate function, it runs much better for an hour. Then seems to "detune" itself.

Symtoms are typical 6DCT , delay engaging and disengaging.

But the slightly unique issue is when I slow at a junction, the power just isn't there.

It's worse on a hill. The solution is to blip the throttle and it "wakes up". Then drives fine..

Hence is suspect an external sensor..maybe..

Appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

Dan

have you checked the hose on the turbo pressure sensor, it may well have hardened due to heat and cold and either split or broken off

The re-building was a total waste of money.

I do wish people would stop throwing parts at a faulty car and get someone who knows what they're doing to look at it.

If, after paying £3200 to rectify a fault and the fault was still there, they'd be billed for the further costs to rectify the proper fault.

This will be either a poor voltage problem or a COMMs problem

Firstly change the main battery and clean ALL of the earthing points to the body for the main battery and the transmission.

Then update the Firmware in the PCM and TCM, perform a reset and relearn and see if that cures it, if not:

Take it to a qualified auto electrician and get the harness checked for full continuity between the PCM to the TCM and the TCM to the transmission, broken COMMs wires are the main culprits of faults with these transmissions, main suspect on S-Max/Galaxy being the large main connector in the LH front wheel arch
