Mondeo MK4 2.2 keyless start issue

Featured Replies

Hi, my 2012 Mondeo mk4 2.2 has suddenly decided not to start when the power button is depressed. It stop OK when I manually jump lead the starter motor and runs fine. But not on the button. I have replaced the clutch switch and tested out the power button, it gives unclear readings. Any help please, ideally a circuit of the power button connections may help?

The start buttons seem to be failing more and more often recently.  For the sake of £15 on eBay it might be worth trying a replacement rather than spending a lot of time doing wiring tests.

Blimey I've not read anything about push button issues.

Since you've replaced the clutch switch next step is the button itself.

Our of interest how many miles on your 2.2?

I've had 2 of them. Both titanium x sport. One manual and one auto box. Ruddy loved them cars. Mine were Mk4.5 tho.

Hi, its done 146k and was running fine before this episode. Waiting a new power button now. I would like to see how it is connected though.
