Plastic box near starter motor

Hi I changed the starter motor on my 2011 focus 1.6 diesel and broke a plastic pipe which connects to a plastic box just next to the starter motor. Now the car is slightly underpowered and smoking. Just wondered what the box is called and what it’s for so I can repair it or order a new one.
