Good morning,

  Has anyone else had any issues with the phev causing noise from what sounds like the large EV battery? It sounds like a whining and grinding noise when accelerating and slowing down. It's difficult to specifically say where it's coming from but it's definitely got louder and worse over the last few weeks. Even on all electric mode it makes a lot of noise now. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm having a similar issue, a whining noise that increases with speed, I also get the occasional click when pulling away which sounds a bit like a worn CV, I'm wondering if it's drive shaft or differential related, it's definitely got worse over the last week

    solution: replace eletric tracion motor

    It appears to be a normal fault on Ford Plugins with the 1.0 engine.
    The electric motor wears out over time and needs to be replaced. Mine lasted 4 years. Now it has a new electric motor and a new gearbox. Let's see how long it lasts and if, after the 8-year warranty, FORD will replace it if the problem reappears.

    FORD is initiating a recall of vehicles with this problem. They say that by 2025 they will have replaced all the problematic engines. It would be better to immediately exchange this 1.0 plugin for the 2.5 engine plugin.
