Ford focus mk 3 1.6tdci clutch pedal fault

Featured Replies

Hi ladies and gents.

I'm after some advice about my focus, car has been driving perfect until two days ago when I stopped at gates to work, as I went to press clutch down it went solid so I pushed harder and something went bang and pedal stuck to floor I managed to pull it up by hand and pushed plastic rod back into hole on back of pedal but now pedal is about a inch from floor, is it the pedal or has something else snapped what I can't see

Has the plastic rod snapped?  Sounds like you'll need a new clutch master cylinder unless you can see any other issue.

Would also check whether the pedal return spring is missing, though that won't cause the fault on it's own.

Thank you TomsFocus,

I’ve just had a closer inspection and you’re correct the end of the plastic rod has snapped. Spring appears to be ok..

looks like I know what I’m doing this weekend now.🤦🏻‍♂️😂
