Window Problem

Featured Replies

Morning, I have a 2010 SMax, the rear drivers side window takes 3 attempts to go up.  If it’s down and I go to close it, it gets halfway up and then drops back down.

I have to do this 3 times before it goes to the top fully.

Any ideas how to solve this.

Cheers

Lee

Tickle it up, gently, until it goes all the way to the top.

Then hold the up button for 6 seconds, you may see the glass jump up into the top a bit more.

Then lower the glass

Then hold the lower button for 6 seconds

See if that cures it, if not then the regulator is seizing and need repairing/replacing

Hi Dave, tried it no joy.

would a new or repair regulator cost much ? Just thinking I’ve lived with it since we had the car so maybe it’s just one of them things that ain’t worth bothering with….

Before you replace the reg, disconnect the motor and connect direct power and see if you can sense any restriction on the way up, maybe see if the inner and out waist seals are catching the glass on the way up
