Does a new battery need to be registered with the car?

Need new battery I'm my 2018 Diesel S-Max.

One company says it needs to be "registered with the computer in the car because the car has auto stop start", another company said no it doesn't. Anyone know who is correct?

In addition the existing battery is an EFB, is it OK to replace with an AGM battery?

Thanks

The battery monitoring system should be reset after replacing the battery.

Technically it will still work without resetting, but not at maximum efficiency and longevity is likely to be reduced.

No, it is not OK to replace an EFB with an AGM.  They are charged differently.

Do not replace with an AGM battery, the cars charging algorithm is not set up for those batteries.

The battery Monitoring System (BMS) should be reset once the battery has been changed but this something that you can easily do yourself without the need to use any tools.

No it wouldn't but his profile is wrong (yes, another one 🙄). His car is a 2018 S-Max.
