Mk1 oil sensor switch location

Featured Replies

Hello guys, first post and hoping someone can tell me where the oil pressure sensor / switch is located on my mk1 Kuga  2012. 2 ltr AWD TDCI (136) as I’m hoping this may cure my issue. Let me rant a bit to explain further.

I will try to keep my rant short and hopefully someone could maybe add anything further to my mission. As I’m at a loss now.

I’ve been having issues with the car cutting out in high revs. Really flooring it.  In 5th gear and it just cuts out, pull over and car starts and runs fine again. I managed to recreate it and got code high pressure on the fuel rail. P1169. Code clears on restart.  I’ve changed loads of stuff and still got same issue. Things I’ve changed

fuel filter, looked clean no bits, fuel rail sensor, high pressure fuel pump. And regulator. HPFP was a second hand one & the regulator, however regulator was tested, had 5.9 ohms and a 12v connection showed it was working. (I can hear it clicking ) leak off test done on injectors. All looked ok good even flow. (Would a blocked injector cause high fuel pressure ?)

The next things I’m trying will be to replace o2 sensor. And possibly the oil pressure switch (if I ever find it’s location) and replace the little leak off pipes encase of a blockage.

I’ve read a few other people having the same kind of issue. Where changing the oil pressure sensor worked for them but, my issue is, everything I look at is for the mk2 solenoid at the oil filter, videos on YouTube, but my mk1 has the oil filter tucked behind in a awkward place and I can’t see where the switch is to change it as another thing to rule out. Can someone please help with anything further I’m missing or possible cause. Thanks in advance

Oil pressure switch is located at the bottom right hand corner of the oil cooler assembly with a light grey plug.
