DPF cleaner additives

Featured Replies

Not my SMax but my Toyota avensis threw up warning lights of check parking brake system and check VSC system and went into limp mode.

Took to mechanic who replaced EGR valve and added some treatment to DPF as that seemed to be causing problems also.

Ive taken it to work and back and no warning lights or limp mode, but I’m sceptical as to how long this lasts without properly removing DPF and getting it properly cleaned etc.

Is it worth getting some Redex DPF cleaner or something similar to try to help it along ?

cheers

Lee

Hi Lee. Since you're on about a Toyota the first thing I Strongly recommend you do is get a copy of Toyota Techstream.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124808047632?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=e2zvldr0qu6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WKLhtmKvT-C&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

There's a link. Yes it costs But you'll save well in the future. It's the Best diagnostic program (2nd only to what Toyota have in their garages) for your car.

So your mechanic added a DPF cleaner and cleared the VCS code. No sign of it since yes? And you had a check handbrake system!

No need to add redex to your car but Do Get that techstream so that next time you get a VCS light or other You can see what the problem is and Better than what your mechanic can.

Oh I'm a former Lexus owner that's how I know and still have techstream.
