Ford fiesta 2019 1.0 EcoBoost 140 ST-Line coolant level

Featured Replies

Hie there

Got my Ford Fiesta 2019 1.0 EcoBoost 140 ST-Line X 4 month ago, I noticed the coolant level was slightly above the minimum line this morning, a drove for around 2 miles, checked it and it was now slightly below the max line..

Should I top up there's something wrong, when is the best time to top up if its requires..

Regards

Dean

Thank you very much, just trying to be good to my EcoBoom so it won't make me go through a horror movie 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Dean. When the engine is cold as in the next morning check the coolant level. Top it up to Max. Then keep an eye on it say weekly. And for piece of mind,or not, take the oil filler cap off and check its underside. It should be clean. If it has a milky layer in it then the car has a water leak into the engine oil. Best to be forewarned than not with these engines.

Water volume is at its least at 4C and expands above or below this temperature, also the Rubber Hoses expand and contract under pressure so the level of the Coolant is unlikely to be the same under different conditions.

I'm sure that water mixed with Antifreeze will act the same.
