jordanben8742
Hi there, I was wondering if It is a sensible idea to remap my Ford focus st-line 1.5 ecoblue (88kw/120hp) with the stock engine & clutch. I have seen a few discussions saying different things but never for my specific car. If it is safe to do so, what is the best next steps? i use the car for work and will drive around 15-20k MPA. TomsFocus
Stage 1 remap should be fine on a stock engine and clutch. A good mapper will limit the torque in lower gears to reduce the risk of clutch slip. Next step is to find someone local with good reviews for a semi-custom map, or find somewhere that flashes generic maps from reputable companies with good reviews. Custom map offers a bit more flexibility, but generic map should be tried & tested by previous customers to ensure no future issues.
