2016 Fiesta dipped beam not working

Hi Guys,

just had my girlfriends 2016 Fiesta MOT’d and it failed on the following: 

  • Headlamp not working on dipped beam Nearside Front
  • Headlamp aim unable to be tested Nearside Front
  • Headlamp insecure Offside Front

Halfords are saying it will cost £400 for a new bulb and a complete brand new headlight. Does this sound right or expensive? We have it booked in with a garage that specialises in Ford on Tuesday to have a look but just wanted to get some opinions before hand.

    If your handy with the tools..go to the breakers on fit a replacement..or check fuse and wiring 

    A lot cheaper than the quote and enjoy the learning curve and getting ya hands dirty

    I could definitely have a look at the fuse but the rest I’m not so handy at. 
     

    we did have a full service and MOT booked with Halfords but for some reason they didn’t even change the bulb. Do you think it would have been something they would have checked before the MOT. Maybe even checked the fuses?

    The headlamp cluster is insecure (loose).  There would be no point them changing the bulb as it'd still fail on security.

    You can either try to secure it with cable ties or a bracket repair kit.  Or just replace the cluster with a good used part.
