Fouled spark plugs

Featured Replies

As I took a couple days off work I thought I’d put myself to good use and did my first oil and filter change on the other half’s Fiesta, which went well!

On my ST-3 I changed the spark plugs mainly as a learning experience and, because I bought some Mountune ones. Although I expect it wasn’t necessary four months after its service but I noticed that the spark plugs a main dealer put in four months back are covered in what I only assume is oil?

Cylinder 1 and 2 going left to right from the front of the car were slick with oil but 3 wasn’t so bad? Anyone know what could have caused this, I noticed the 1 and 2 plug were a lot easier to remove than 3 so could it be a case that the mobile mechanic from Ford didn’t tighten them enough? Car was running fine before the swap so wouldn’t have been able to tell otherwise!
