2005 Ford Fiesta keeps cutting out

Featured Replies

Hi, my 2005 ford fiesta keeps cutting out. Last late winter and spring, the car cut out a few times on the same road, always when slowing down when approaching a roundabout from going 50mph. I intended to take it to a garage back then however the car hasn’t done it since April this year until last week.

Twice now, last week and today my car has started cutting out again. I am driving on an A road, going roughly 50mph (school run time) and when I’m approaching a roundabout, the car just cuts power with all the lights coming onto the dashboard. I have to put my hazards and and restart the car, however it is quite dangerous.

The car passed its MOT and had an interim service in March, the fuel level is mostly always above a quarter of a tank and there are no other issues with the car as I can recall.

The car literally always cuts out at the exact same spot, there’s no incline or dip or anything and I have tried slowing down further away from the roundabout to make the decrease in speed even more gradual however it hasn’t done anything.

Any ideas at all? I know completely nothing about cars unfortunately.

Thank you.
