Hi All, my other car is a 2007 MK6.5 Fiesta ST 150.

Engine management light came on the other day, thought it was going to be another cat efficiency light but this time we have a P0443 - evap purge valve circuit.

The car is running fine, though I have noticed when opening the fuel cap I don't get the customary 'hiss'. I can clear the code but it returns immediately on next startup.

Anyone have any ideas about where the valve is located on the Duratec and where the wiring goes? It could be a coincidence but if it's located near the fuel tank and the wiring runs under the rear seats, its possible I've caught the wiring harness when loading track tyres into the cargo area, but if it's engine bay then it's probably something I've knocked while reverse bleeding the clutch the other week.

For transparency - I've not even begun to diagnose yet, but thought you lovely lot might be able to save me some time of blindly looking around the engine bay and fuel tank 🙂

Quickly located the valve and the cause of the fault. Nice quick wiring repair and no more light.
