Different size tyres front back 2017 Titanium 2 door

Featured Replies

Hi, noticed other day that my wife Fiesta has 16 inch tyres front and 15 inch back. Is this a standard feature or a mistake. Any advice appreciated.

That is not standard.

Definitely not right. The Titanium came with 16" wheels ( all round!) as standard.

Would a Fiesta pass an MOT with different wheel sizes front and back ?

Although a number of "Performance or Premium" brands have different sizes front and back, this would surely not apply to a Fiesta, but the insurance company might have something negative to say about it.

Just curious, are the alloys, front and back, the same design?

Yes.  Tyres must be matched across an axle.  But there is no check for front to rear difference.

That's true, but unless you have a drag car, or a sports supercar, would you be putting different sized wheels on front/back??

Personally, I wouldn't.  But the alloys on these are made of cheese.  I suspect one or two got bent so the previous owner fitted a pair of used 15's, either unknowingly, or in an attempt to improve to ride comfort.

Wouldn't size mismatches mess up the wheel rotation readings for the ABS, stability control, etc?

As long as they came from another Fiesta, the tyre circumference is probably close enough to the 16s not to cause issues.
