Spanner light on Ford Fiesta Dash

Featured Replies

I just purchased a Ford Fiesta Active X Turbo, 140bhp, 70 reg. Within 2 days of owning the car, the spanner/wrench light appeared on the dash. (Car drove fine when light was on). Light was off the next time I drove the car but then reappeared again whilst driving. Does anyone have any advice on this? The manual suggests its an engine warning light which then states 'indicates a malfunction and to have the vehicle checked as soon as possible'. Thanks

....and that would be 100% correct.

Return it to the garage you bought it from and get them to sort it out.

As above. We are assuming this is a dealer purchase, so that is the first port of call.

A '70 reg may well be still under the remains of the 3 year Ford warranty anyway. Surprising a 140 was registered so late - it had been superseded by the 155 early in 2020.

Thanks. I have contacted the garage I purchased from and they are arranging for it to go to a garage (Evans Halshaw, Plymouth) to investigate. I bought the car from a dealer online (Carstore Shrewsbury), so hence they are sending it a garage much more local to me as I live in Cornwall. Hopefully diagnostics can shed some light and they sort whatever the issue is.

Thanks for that. Yes contacted the dealer I bought it from and they are arranging for it to go back to a garage local to me. I bought the car from a dealer online in Shrewsbury but I live in Cornwall. Hopefully the garage can shed some light. Had fiestas in the past (same model) and not had any issues previously.
