Ford Focus 2010 door wont stay shut

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I have a ford focus 2010 hatchback. For the last few years I've had the same problem at winter time. When I open my driver's door it won't close , the lock won't engage. So I have to  tie some rope to handle to passenger handle. I have put grease on the lock itself in door. And squirted lots of WD-40 LITHIUM grease into the actual handle , where it comes out as you pull it. Yet still I've just this morning 1/12/23

Came out, and it's happened this morning for the 3rd day on the run. Any ideas how I can solve this ?? Thanks for any advice or help 👍

the latch is freezing up, possibly has a leak and lets water inside. You could of course remove the door latch and take it apart, clean it and re-lubricate and see if that fixes the issue.
