Transit Custom 2018 Electrical Issues

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hoping I can get some help as having a nightmare with my 2018 Transit Custom (40k miles)

About 6 weeks ago I had some strange electrical issues saying some doors were open even though they wasn't when indicating it would make a rapid indication sound then it went away, but now I have

window wipers don't work

rear door open message pops up even tho it's closed

horn going off non stop (this is happening all the time now so had to take out fuse)

Everyone I spoke to has said I have water in the BCM, I have found a huge puddle of water in the passenger side and found where water is coming from and attached an image but its no where near the BCM,

So my question is does anyone know what connectors the water could be getting into from behind the blower (Attached picture) and how easy is it to remove the blower and get to back of all this. and if I dry out the connections would I still need a BCM replacement,

Doing my best to avoid taking it to ford as dont want to end up with a huge bill

Thanks for any help

Water finds it's way in to everything. You are going to have to remove the BCM sooner or later or pay Ford a huge amount of money for them to do it for you.

Disconnect the battery before working on the BCM.

I see so its not going to be a case of just drying out whatever is covered in water?

Once water finds it's way inside the BCM then the circuit board and components start corroding. If you're lucky and catch it soon enough it might be repairable.
