Key battery low again

My son has a 2020 ST Line Fiesta which we bought 2nd hand around 1 month ago. Just after purchasing it flagged on one key for low battery so i replaced both. Both keys are flagging for low battery again? Has anyone else had this issue?

    Double check that you have installed the battery without damaging the delicate contacts within the key.

    Don't solely trust the car error message. Test the battery you have used, if new, it should be punching out 3.3v. Ebay (to my cost) is littered with fake Duracels.

    Just a few hundred on these forums alone 🤣

    I suspect that if you use a digital multimeter you will find the keyfob batteries to be 2.98V or less. As others have said there are millions of poor quality fake Duracell (and other brands out there). At the moment Energizer seem to be the best with the least amount of fakes about.
