Headlight bot working

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, i have a Terrible situation..

I tried everything still cant figure it out.

I have a Galaxy 2016 2.0 duratorq 150ps,automatic powershift 6dct450.

My problem is with my headlights.the left one doesnt stay on .i mean im turning on the lights ,turns on both and after a while (seconds)the left one turns off.

I measured the voltage ,all ok for the right one but left one zero..

Cuts off power to left one.so.etimes working just fine but more often does the thing.

I looked for the fuse.couldnt find it.i removet all fuses separately one by one to see when the lights are turning off but they didnt.

I removed ALL  fuses.i mean from the engine fuse box and passanger fuse box aswell.they stay on.

Tried to find the relay in the same manner, still no effect.

I dont know what to do any more.

Beside this major problem i have another one but i can live with this little problem:when im flashing the left headlight turns on wuth a delay ,like 0.3 sec.but as i said i can live with this problem .

Please if anyone can help me with this problem

Ill atach a picture with the fusebox form the engine.

What type of Dipped beam headlights have you got?

  • Halogen
  • Xenon
  • OEM LED
  • After market LED
  • Other

There are no fuses or relays for the dipped beam headlights as they are directly controlled by the BCM

Hi,normally i have halogen. But a while back i upgraded to led bulbs.they worked just fine,i mean they didnt turned off.just the problem with the delay wich i had it with de halogen.

.....and there is the answer !!!

The Body Control Module doesn't like the new aftermarket LED's and it is shutting down to protect the circuit. I assume that you are not actually in UK London, as you would know that it is illegal to fit aftermarket LED's to the headlights (although many people do).

Correct. But what about the delay when im flashing?this problem i had it with the halogen bulbs aswell.i even habe it to my wife's galaxy.same issue .when she flashes the lesft headlight has a delay

What do you mean by flashing? Using the indicators or the main beam.

Put some normal lamps in and try again, Forscan isn’t going to get around a fault caused by something you’ve fitted.

its odd that people have a problem after fitting something but, don’t think it’s probably to do with what they’ve just fitted.

By flashing i mean when u r trying to make another driver aware of something .using high beam for a second. Pulling the the indicator lever towards you.

And i stated that this "delay" problem i had it before installing the aftermarket led bulbs.even with the oem halogen lights.

But this is not the main problem.

The problem is the right headlight is turning of after a while..
