Fiesta 2010 1.6L stage 1

Featured Replies

Hi all, I’m currently looking into getting a stage 1 for my fiesta titanium 1.6L. I’ve been told that I can go from 120 hp -> 150 hp. The guy has over 20k followers on instagram, and no bad reviews, so I know he’s genuine, but I just wondered if this is realistic, and if so, is it safe? Are there any negatives?

30 hp increase on an NA engine.... how?

Unless you have a detuned version (you don't) the gains are usually minimal on these NA engines.

Depends what you mean by "Stage 1" I guess. The Mountune MP140 conversion cost around £1300  over 10 years ago and comprised the following:

The 140PS performance upgrade, for Zetec-S, S1600 and Titanium 1.6-litre models, consists of a high-flow air induction system, a high performance exhaust system including high-flow catalyst and tubular manifold, 1 or 2 new Hego sensors (depending on model) and re-calibration of Ford’s 1.6-litre Ti-VCT Sigma engine to produce 140PS at 6750rpm and 170NM at 4250rpm. This boost in performance reduces the standard 0-60mph time from 9.9secs to 7.9secs and was enough for Autoexpress to award the Fiesta Mountune 9th in its Performance Car of the Year test.

While upgrade levels/stages are by no means clearly defined I think the above would be a fair few stages above what you’d get for a man turning up with a van and flashing a new map onto the car.

Guess you could say Stage 1 being a remap, gets murky after that lol

Yes, this sort of claim is nothing new:
