Headlight dipped beam out.

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have just purchased a 68 plate Ford Focus st line x. But as the title states I have a dipped beam light out and a rear light out but the dash isnt showing any dipped beam malfunction warning lights is this normal behaviour or is something more going on here I think the battery could be a possible suspect as I have no stop start in normal drive mode either any further suggestions are appreciated. It's halogen headlights with the led strip for reference.

Not all of the lights are on the warning system so this may be normal.

Is it the tail light on the same side as the headlight that's out?  If so, that does sound like a bigger issue.

Also, it late Mk3 or early Mk4?  2018 is the crossover year.

It's the early mk4/2019 model and yes they are both passenger side dipped and rear light that's fitted to the boot/tailgate door but all other lights work on that side.

Ok.  There's no individual fuse for each side so I reckon you're right that's it's a BCM glitch, potentially caused by low battery.

You can try swapping the headlight bulb to rule it out.  Otherwise either charge the battery or disconnect it for a short time to reset the BCM.
