Key/Ignition Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

Santa delivered a 59 plate fiesta for my daughter that was purchased early December.  The car has been stored in a garage up until a few days ago.  Noticed that when you put the key in the ignition it doesn't turn straight away (its the same when the steering is locked/unlocked) and takes a few attempts to get it to turn to start the car.  Car starts fine its just that initial turn of the key which is the issue (i thought it may have been the steering lock at first but even jigging the steering wheel doesn't seem to improve it).

Car has come with 6 months mechanical/electrical warranty but doesn't cover wear and tear so not sure if this sort of issue would be covered (although i would like to think it would be having only bought it 2/3 weeks ago?)

Any ideas?

Cheers

Put the battery on charge for at least 12 hours.

Do you have 2 keys? If so do they both have the same problem?
