Leak in boot has stopped since changing the rear light gaskets and soak tested with gallons in all the suspected spots even hosed for 10 mins under the car emulating spray 

I did notice however a gap in the boot (see pic) 

Hasn't got much give to pull it closer - I might fill it with some tiger seal 

What would you do?

    What you could do is remove the seal and re-apply it but with a slight stretch of the rubber so the two ends meet again.
