Intermittent warning light

Hi All. Strange one. Warning light comes on intermittently. Manual says it is Auto gearbox warning. The car is a 1.4 diesel manual climate style.

When light is on, throttle response muted, almost seems to fade until hits 2K revs and then fully normal.

Anybody any ideas or experience of this please?
