See the new design Puma is out for mid 2024. Now Sync 4 plus 12" touchscreen and a fair old price increase, £1380 on same model and spec I have just ordered.

    Looks like you did the right thing, then John.

    From what I've seen so far, the engine choice has been slimmed down. Looks as if 125 will be the only one with choice of auto or manual, 155 auto only it seems, and Puma ST is now 170ps auto - no 1.5 manual.

    So any thoughts I might have had of replacing the Fiesta with a Puma ST are out of the window!

    The only thing new is the interior. They haven’t even given it a facelift just moved the badge

    Must have been a reason why square 'wheels' never caught on the first time... :unsure:

    Never thought I'd say this, but compared to the Puma update I actually prefer the Allegro instrument layout. 

    It wasn't actually that bad to drive either (though the gearchange on the 1500/1750 versions was "vague" to put it kindly) but square wheels?  Even BL had the wit to quietly drop it after a while.

    Just reading an item about the 2024 petrol MINI. They have dropped manuals altogether.

    This seems to be a continuing industry trend now, and the cynic in me wonders if it is another way to steer buyers towards EVs. A lot of people got pleasure from using a manual box, and may well think if they can't have one, they may as well have an EV.

    I would rather have an EV than an Auto, at least you still have "direct" control then.

    Though I've yet to drive a full EV, I've driven hybrids where the ICE just tops up the battery, and drive is electric. I certainly preferred them to an auto ICE, particularly the DCT variety.
