ford focus 1.0 ecoboost GPF

Featured Replies

My ford focus 2019 1.0l eco boost keeps trying to regenerate the GPF.

I have given it a long run and tried to eliminate, but it keeps returning on next journey.

I have removed the DTC code of P242F, but again it comes back.

There are no other issues, what should I be checking for and how:

Exhaust Gas temp sensor open- short - Mass air flow - intake air temp sensor, poor electrical connections

Regards

Others have had the same problem here on the forum. I understand that there is a Ford software update that corrects the issue. Looks like a trip to the dealer.

I was only at the dealer 6 months ago, would have thought they would have done the update then as it was for other electrical gremlins. Thanks

No.

Dealers will not check or do software updates unless they are specifically asked to do so.

I went in for a health check. will go through all sensors to see if this is the fault.

I cannot afford going to ford again.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's just Ford dealership jargon for we'll walk around the car and kick the tyres. A total waste of time and money but it makes the garage a few quid.
