Transmission error message on start up

Have a cmax with power train box 

get message on start up ( on cold days) transmission limited function.

turn off engine and reset tcm and no problems car goes like a dream.

have diagnostically checked and no faults with gearbox or tcm

any ideas ?

is this a common fault and what’s the solution

    Battery was replaced in 2022 

    car is not used too frequently loke maybe once a week or so

    Then there is a very good chance the battery State Of Charge is low and it needs charging up.

    Fully charge the battery first, then check earths

    If you're going to disconnect the battery to charge then clean and re-grease the earths whilst it's disconnected (it's recommended anyway)

    Remove the earth eyelet, clean the paint away to bare metal in the area where the eyelet sits, grease metal and refit eyelet

    The transmission ones are underneath the air box base on the chassis rail
