Sony CD AUX IN.

Featured Replies

Quick question, Can I use the controls / buttons on my CD player or Steering wheel when using AUX IN? Or do I have to press them on the MP3 player / IPod? I dont mind, just could get a little dangerous until I get used to the controls of MP3 so would rather not if possible lol.

Thanks in advance.

as far as i kno you cant, what connector do yu have??

I just have one from maplin, standard 3.5mm headphone jack thingy, just plugged it straight into the AUX IN Socket in the car. Runs good enough, I didn't think I could do much about the controls, just thought someone might have more of an idea.

Thanks very much for your reply though :)

I wouldnt think you could use the controls on the steering wheel for an ipod etc

No problem, Thanks again for your replies. I was just unsure.

Rick :)

I have my mp3 in all the time and no you cant use the controls on the head unit ie. forward or previous

I used to use it for the audio of my PS2. Used to be brilliant having Gran Turismo 4 playing, having a Renault 5 turbo rally car noise blaring out, people looking round expecting someone to come flying past, not an Escort van trundling by at 30 mph.

I hope you werent playing while driving

Oh no. Bit awkward that is. Used to play DVD's on it while driving but soon stopped that idea as it was so so distracting. Just sounded mental through 2 sets of 6x9's and 2 15" subs and a set of 10" subs. Was crazy loud.

I didnt feel like this warrented its own thread... As mentioned in the thread (I think) my Fiesta has the upgraded Sony CD player and I was wondering if part of it came out for when I was not in the car. I.E When I had a Ford KA the part of the radio / CD player with the numbers 2-6 I think it was, came out and there was a small flashing light behind... I always used to take this out for safety. Is there a part on this sterio that I can take out? Or do I just leave the whole of it in the car all the time and hope nbody nicks it lol. I hope that made some sense? Thanks.

*Bump* ^^ any of you good people know? ^^

I would probably say not mate to be honest. I cant on my 52 plate and to be honest it would be a pain in the bum to carry round a set of numbered keys.

If someone risks breaking into your car to steal a standard focus stereo then they need their head checking!
