The door cards are very cheap, remove them and seal the joints where they are sonic welded, check the harness and door modules are not rattling and pack the gap between the door casing and the speaker with foam

Hi Martin. First off take the door panels off and see if anything rattles when you turn the music up.

Check for damage to the panel clips and that none are missing.

Check that the speakers are securely fitted.

Buy some dynamat sound deadening sheets. Apply a sheet to the doors inner skin. Cut a strip approx 3 inch. Apply that strip to the speaker outer where it meets the door. Half the strip on the speaker frame and the other on the metal door skin.

I did an install on a mk3 focus I had. Uprated speakers and a power amp. I did Not have to touch the door panels. They never rattled or squeaked at any time. Ok the focus was titanium x spec but that's that.

Maybe latter cars have poorer quality door panels, I don't know. But check condition of the panels as Dave mentioned above.

What I did to mine with the dynamat vastly improved bass as did the Alpine sub in the boot.

Early MK4 Panels were really cheap, they did something to them because a lot of people who had paid for B&O were complaining about buzzing.

It's the actual door cards rattling. The decorative trim rattles, the metal clip holding it to the door rattles, the weather strip for the glass rattles.

They did this from factory. I don't even know if it's fixed on the latest cars.

Blimey. How the hell have Ford cut costs that much on door panels yet supply a sound system that's quite good.

Shocking.

My 2007 Lexus is250 had a Mark Levinson sound system which rocked. Nothing and I mean Nothing rattled in that car. Just goes to show cars were built far better then than now.

Hi Martin. Why are you getting new door speakers? Are the ones already fitted on their way out? Are you planning installing a power amp too?

Going off what Alex stated. The decorative trim. I don't know how they're attached but maybe take them off and put them back on with strong double sided tape. As for the clips that hold the panel to the door. Try wrapping something like ptfe tape around the clips making them that little larger for fill the holes they go in better. As for the weather strip. Take them off and put a length of self adhesive foam, not thick but just a couple mm thick, then re attach the strip. The idea is to make the trims fit tighter therefore negating any possible rattles.
