VCT oil leak into loom

Featured Replies

Hi - I took my car to Ford garage last week to reset the electrics after having a dashcam fitted. They did a quick health check on my car despite it was serviced 2 months ago. They discovered 'VCT's oil leak into the wiring loom and contaminated hego sensors' - can anyone shed light on what this means? I have been quoted £1300 but they reduced it to £812 as gesture of goodwill (I am assuming this is because we've always had the car serviced at Ford's?).

sounds like a con

Did you ever have any trouble with this issue? Mine has just gone in for a Service/MOT and they've advised the exact same issue following a health check - quoted £1400ish, reduced to £800 with a goodwill contribution from Ford (suggests its a common issue).

Ford ST-Line 2019 reg.

Sisters partner is a mechanic so will look at the issue for a second opinion but wondering if it's worth actually getting sorted now with the dealer and saving any potential hassle later.

Hi. We have the exact same issue and taken it into trust Ford who informed us of this. They are quoting £1800 for the work. How did you go about getting the good will contribution?
