Heater controls mk3 focus

Featured Replies

Just wondering can you change the normal 3 knob control knobs for the digital display like out of the titanium model

No.  It uses a totally different HVAC box for the dual zone electronic climate.  Would need to remove the whole dash to change the box over.

So it wouldn’t work at all

So this conversion won’t work at all

There might be some basic functionality.  The manual fan speed buttons might still work.  Manual AC button might work.

But the temperature control won't work as manual HVAC doesn't have the temp sensors.  It might work at the extreme ends (Hi or Lo) but that's unlikely to be comfortable for most of the time.

You are welcome to try fitting the panel and let us know what does and doesn't work.

Is the wiring the same do you no thanks

Some of the wiring will be missing.

Plugs are the same shape though so basic wiring is likely to be the same.  That's why I believe some basic functions may still work.

**Update**

Sorry, ignore my earlier posts.  The plugs are NOT the same on Mk3.  The electronic climate panel will not be plug & play.

Oddly, the manual HVAC on Mk3 is fully electronically controlled.  No cables like the Mk2 version had.  But it seems the plugs are not the same on closer inspection, so the panels cannot be easily switched.

Heater control from analog to digital

No.  They'd have to be mad to pull the dash out, replace the HVAC box and install the climate loom and sensors.

Cheaper and easier just buy a Titanium.  Which is exactly what I did myself.  Some things can be retrofitted easily, but climate control is not one of them.
