Antifreeze

Featured Replies

Hi, I have orange coloured antifreeze in the car,I have blue antifreeze left over from my last car and my owners manual says not to mix colours. Is that correct as I've only seen blue in the shops.

that is correct, do not mix these 2 ;)

halfords should sell the stuff you are looking for, it should be pink? the new ford stuff is purple i believe and IS compatible with the pink stuff.

The orange stuff is OAT (Organic Acid Technology) antifreeze and is a different chemistry to the old blue stuff. Among its other attributes it's supposed to have a longer service life.

you can get the right type from ford and it does not cost much. they are right in saying don't mix types of coolant.

either ford or halfords, however im pretty sure that fords has a lifetime expiry, meaning that you dont have to drain it and replace after a set amount of time (what you should do with blue antifreeze) not sure if the pink antifreeze from halfords needs to be replaced at set intervals or not

dont mix them :P
