    how come your so sure it needs a replacement? i agree some knockings can be BAD to have :P but others can be repaired, maybe try and find out whats knocking first?

    that means paying to have it stripped to find out dont really wont to spend alot on it

    you could attempt to do it yourself to a certain extent by just listening, is the sound comming from the top or the bottom? is the sound heavy or light ticking? perhapse post a vid on youtube for others here to listen too ?

    how many miles has the engine got?
