I live in France. Just received a quote from a Ford main deaaler to change the cambelt on my 2017 Focus.100,000 km.  €2,500.  This is is just completely crazy!!!

    Agreed but I keep hearing stories of the Ecoboost wet cambelt  failing much earlier.Think I.’l stop looking at u tube scare stories!

    My car has 64,000 km at present. Oil is changed when it gets to 50% life with the right stuff. I plan to take the sump off at 80,000 and inspect the oil pump inlet. If it looks ok, I expect to run to 160,000.  People are beginning to find ways to do the job more cheaply, a specialist here can do the job for about a thousand Euros so a holiday over here might be worth considering. The dealer price is about what you would expect in France.

    That does sound like a good idea and a lot cheaper than a new belt or failure. Whereabouts are you in Europe Anon?

    There are ways to check the belt's condition, but it is better to be changed at or better ten years or 240000 km - 150000 miles.
